Collector’s Mode
Collector’s Mode and Story Mode are two different ways to participate in RoS.
This page details how Collector’s Mode works. You can, of course, participate in both Modes!

Want to build a massive horde of characters, or just interested in collecting pretty designs? Not interested in participating in the discord, story events, or quests - or do you want to have some side characters that you don’t have to put a lot of effort into managing? If any of this sounds like what you’re interested in, then Collector’s Mode is for you!
So, what exactly is Collector’s Mode?
Collector’s Mode allows you to create new RoS characters with minimal effort! The requirements for these characters are minimal, and you can unlock more slots in Collector’s Mode by purchasing them from the Bits Store. Characters in Collector’s Mode cannot participate in Quests or Story Events (although they can join in misc. roleplays, but don’t gain any EXP from it).
You can transfer characters over from Collector’s Mode whenever you have an unused Story Mode character slot, of course, so you don’t need to worry about using a cool idea for a character in Collector’s Mode and being unable to use them for Quests and Events ever.

How do I get started in Collector’s Mode?
Everyone starts off with 1 character slot for Story Mode and 3 character slots for Collector’s Mode. All you need to do to get started is to read the Rules, the lore on our website, and then check over what’s needed in Character Creation.
There are certain options for characters—such as mutations, special subtypes of dragons, and magic—that are only available from the Bits Store, so check that our to make sure that your idea doesn’t require one! If it does, don’t worry—you earn Bits by writing or drawing about any RoS character, your own, an NPC, or someone else’s, so it’s not a big deal if you need to get something from the Store!

Can I transfer characters between Modes?
You can! All you need to do is have an open slot in one of the Modes and then submit a Character Update request. The character(s) must have already been approved in order to be transferred between Modes.
