Ruler: High Lady Verda Primrose II and her family
Founded: ??? B.A. (Before Adeodatus), sometime before the founding of Dutoria
Region: Polar Province
The proud capital of Dutoria, the city of Dura is at its most beautiful during the depths of winter, when snow glitters like tiny diamonds along the rooftops and brilliant blue-green auroras flicker across the night sky. The city sits on the coast of the Moonglow Sea, allowing travellers from across Theavia to make their way to its harbour by sea. It is here that the kingdom’s ruling family, the Primroses, as well as most of the nobility and high class of the country make their homes.
Dura, as well as most of the Polar Province, get a beautiful view of the northern lights (known as the “rays of life” by the Children of Blom” during the winter. Old legends say that the skies over Dura were always dark before the Kingdom was established; one night, when Lady Dutoria sat on the throne, one moment the night was clear as could be and then the next, lights were dancing across the skies for all to see.
The city was damaged during a siege that lasted from December 505 into early Febraury 506, when a mass of ice monsters swept down from the Frozen Gates to the north. The people of Dura survived the siege, and efforts are currently underway to rebuild. The Xocrian King, Loreto Phoenine, has sent several groups of labourers to help. During reconstruction, a strange mural depicting an Ice Phoenix was uncovered deep within the North’s Keep, and a scholar from Xocrium has arrived to investigate what it means…
The House of Life; A great church/temple. Home to the Children of Blóm and used mainly for worship of Goddess Blóm. During the year, the Children of Blóm do their best to teach anyone willing to listen to the principles and teachings of Blóm, and hold community dinners just about every week, usually on Friday night.
The Garden of Winter; A man-made garden located inside the North’s Keep. It is made up of small plants, a few trees, and the famous primroses. It is said to have been around the foundation of Dutoria and built by Lady Iris II during the latter part of her reign.
The North’s Keep; The grand castle of Dutoria and the home of the Royalty. The North’s Keep was surprisingly not built by the Dutorians themselves, but rather the last Elder Drake ruler, Lady Caldera. After a nasty plague got the best of some Dutorians, Lady Caldera didn’t want their deaths to be in vain. Using her magic, she created the North’s Keep. Alongside the North’s Keep, Lady Caldera did many great things for the people of Dutoria and was even remarked as ‘The Nicest of the Elder Drakes’. It was believed that near the end of the Elder Drake’s reign, Lady Caldera was going to step down, giving the crown back to Dutoria’s original rulers while also encouraging others of her kind to do the same.

Aurora was once the second-largest city in Dutoria and the base of its army. During the harsh winter of 505 and early 506, it and Dura came under siege by ice monsters from the Frozen Gates. While Dura was able to survive the siege, Aurora was not so lucky, and much of the City of Light is a frosty ruin. Some few survivors have been found wandering the tundra, including the soldier Sören Rockrose, who was the first to stumble into Dura with news of what had happened to Aurora.
Prior to its destruction, Aurora was a bustling military hub located only a few miles away from the northern coast. Frostwings and hippogriff riders could be seen flying overhead throughout the city. Though it was a major base for the army, Aurora was still a city, and as such was split into two major districts; the Common and the Remark.
The Common district was the main residential area of the city; there were many homes, markets, and people in this part of the city. The Remark was home to the actual army, with many barracks, training yards, and stockhouses. The home of the late Lady-Commander and Countess, Runa Rose, was also located in the Remark.

Pesal is usually a very calm place in Dutoria. The city is built on the bank of the thawing river and because of this is the main source of Dutoria’s other food groups such as fruits, veggies, and livestock. With this, the city’s population is dominated by farmers, ranchers, and gardeners who adore tending to Dutoria’s most healthy farmland.
Despite its role as a farming city, Pesal is also known for one other thing - Military animals. All hippogriffs and borgs are bred and born all in Pesal. They receive small training before being sent off to Aurora. Due to this, Pesal is guarded by the Guards of the Garden. They are tasked with protecting Pesal at all costs and are mainly manned by Borgs and their riders.
